Description
This listing is for a very cool 1930's or 1940's Vega C76 Advanced Model Archtop Electric Guitar with a vintage DeArmond Dynasonic pickup installed. This guitar was made by Vega in the 1930's or 1940's and was clearly a very high end guitar at the time. The guitar unfortunately will need considerable repairs and restorations from a skilled luthier to properly restore this guitar. As you can see the guitar is brilliantly adorned with inlays on the fretboard and headstock. It also appears someone added a 1950's DeArmond Dynasonic pickup in the bridge position. While the DeArmond pickup is not original , this is the same pickup that comes with many vintage Gretsch models and is very valuable pickup by itself and it was tastefully and professionally installed. The main issue with the guitar is the neck is warped and not straight and the proper way to restore the guitar would be to refret and plane the fingerboard. It's possible a neck reset will also be required but in my opinion the neck angle isn't so much the problem and the warped neck. This is obviously a very big and difficult repair job that would need to done by a professional luthier.
The pickup is functional and works fine. The tone knob isn't working and I have not dropped to pots to inspect the wiring so I can't what pots or cap is in the guitar.
The guitar comes as with the chipboard case pictured which is in very rough and poor condition. The guitar will be professionally packed for safe shipping.
Please look at the pictures and message with questions. Because of the extensive repairs needed the guitar is being sold AS-IS with no returns or refunds. As stated above this guitar will require significant-difficult repairs.
Thanks for looking,,
