    Description

To be clear, this listing is for the Guitar, Case, Pickguard, and Silicone package only.  Other items may appear in photos for context only.  More photos can be seen on "the other" site where guitars would be listed...
This is a "no excuses" 100% original, unaltered 1984 Gold Elite USA Telecaster with its original (and very rare) Flight Case. Everything is in fantastic condition. Comes with case candy as seen in photos (does not come with the catalog, just used that for info).
That is the actual original silicone pack from 1984.
The original pickguard is included and has never been installed.  This model came with the pickguard unattached in case the owner opted not to have it on the guitar. The Flight Case was an upgrade (as seen in catalog) and is impossible to find these days. Even the correct black standard case (3 buckles, not 4) is hard to find. Many listings say "OHSC" for this series. Very few are correct about that.
I believe I am the second owner and have had it for about 15 of its 37 years. As seen in pix, I also own it's Stratocaster counterpart from 1984 and a Standard Telecaster from 84. Just to be clear, this auction is only for the Elite Telecaster and it's case/candy.
1984 was pretty much the end of Fender as we knew it up til that point. Shortly after this series (Standard, Elite, and the first Vintage Re-Issues) came out, Fender went defunct and didn't produce any guitars in the USA for couple years (some were made in Japan, but not the USA). So 1984 truly was the end of an era for Fender. I began playing guitar in 1982. These were the ones I fantasized about owning back then.
Fender made this series with the flatter 12 inch radius necks (vs. the usual 7.5 and 9.5). They really should have used the 12 inch radius more often as it is easier to keep lower action on. The frets on this were all leveled and polished in early 2021. They could not be in better shape nor set to any lower action than they are. The rest of the guitar is in extremely good condition, 100% original and unaltered. The active electronics (a first for Fender with these Elites) work flawlessly. I can send you a copy of the user manual, but you can also find it online. It has a full explanation of the active electronics and controls.
Please note that I am not offering this for international shipping at this time. Too many of these classic vintage instruments are ending up in Japan and Europe. I would like to see this pristine example of a complete guitar, case, and candy remain here in the USA.
