Band In A Box Version 8, NEW, SEALED UNOPENED, Mac System 7.5+, Windows 95/98Band-in-a-Box is a music accompaniment software package for Windows and macOS produced by PG Music Incorporated in Victoria, British Columbia. The software allows the user to create songs by simple keyboard inputs: a musical style, a tempo, and a key. The screen resembles a blank page of music. The user types in a series of chords, even complex ones, and the software generates a song, typically played by four or five musical instruments. The software can create backgrounds for almost any chord progressions used in Western popular music, and can play them in any of thousands of different music styles. The software is published in ten different languages.
Band-in-a-Box was first introduced in 1990 for PC computers and the Atari ST. The creator of the software is a Canadian, Dr. Peter Gannon, for whom "PG Music" is named. The software is still quite popular today, and this is in shrink-wrapped, BRAND NEW condition--a vintage Version 8.
Take it from daddybeanie--this is a great piece of software. With it, you can create play-along recordings and instantly change tempo, key and musical style. Students can adjust the tempo to practice lines, voicings, or intonation and they turn off the piano or bass part on the software's song and create their own. Singers and instrumentalist alike will appreciate being able to play the same tune or exercise in all twelve keys, allowing them to master their favorite improvisation patterns.
Running Band-in-a-Box is delightfully easy. With the pulldown menu design, this product really is that simple to learn and use, and besides, there are no less than 9 different tutorials on-line plus an in-depth manual over 150 pages.
