Gibson SG's classic model, the 61 Reissue featuring the aesthetically pleasing small pick guard.  A high-end model in the regular lineup at the time, Gibson faithfully reproduced the 1961 specifications such as the small pickguard and the large headstock with an impressive crown inlay. The body is mahogany, and the slim tapered mahogany neck is slightly thinner and easier for some to grip than the Special and Standard of this period. Other features include a rosewood fretboard, Kluson tuning pegs, an ABR-1 bridge and all original hardware giving the guitar a more vintage appearance and sound.  '57 Classic humbuckers are Gibson's take on the original PAF sound with moderate power, good response, with a pleasing balance of graininess and clarity. At a mere 3.4 kg (7.49 lbs) this guitar is easy on the back and shoulders and won't cause fatigue even during the most marathon sessions!
Cosmetically there are a few minor dents on the horn, fine scratches throughout typical of guitar of this age and some dulling to the hardware that really adds some vintage character to this 20 year old instrument. The frets have plenty of life left and overall this guitar is in fine shape.
Note: The saddle wire of the ABR-1 bridge has been removed and will not be replaced.
