OVERVIEW
Tobias Lindell took the experience he gained mixing andproducing hit records and created a line of hardware audio products that becameinstant favorites with producers and engineers around the world. Now, some ofTobias’ favorite designs are available in plugin form.
The original Lindell 7X-500 hardware is a one-channelcompressor/limiter. Its FET (field effect transistor) design incorporates somenew and exclusive features such as High Pass sidechain filter and a Mixcontrol, which allows mixing between dry and wet signals for parallelcompression effects. The 7X-500 is Lindell’s take on the classic ”1176® Sound”.It can be smooth or it can be a rock’n'roll monster when using its 100:1 ratio.
The 7X-500 plugin, in addition to being a faithfulemulation, is an evolution of the original hardware, adding useful featureslike stereo operation and continuously variable attack and release controls.
