Ring Capacitor
(aka condenser)

Western Electric Ringers
incl B, C, P & many others
This capacitor (condenser) will work with a wide variety of high
impedance ringers. The common ones are B1A, C4A, and P1A.
This will also work with many other ringers, both
foreign
& domestic.
Original capacitors can go open or partial open
or they can also short or partial short.
Some much older ringers (rarely) may need more
capacitance
, and
usually you can just
parallel
two of these to double the capacitance.
This capacitor is non-polarized .68 uf and a whopping 630 volts!
No more shorted caps from line surge, etc. Lifetime free replacement.
What is the reason for a "ring capacitor"?
1. Blocks the DC from phone line while allowing the AC (ringing signal) to pass through.
2. Forms a semi-resonant circuit with the ringer coils which improves ring power.
