What we have here is a vintage Chinese porcelain brush pot from the 1990s. This is a rare and limited edition of brush pots that was made in the world-renowned "Porcelain Capital" in the prefecture-city of Jingdezhen

China (see marking at the base of the brush pot) back in 1993 to usher in the Year of the Rooster.
According to Chinese and Feng Shui traditions, the symbolic meaning of the Chinese Zodiac Rooster sign is punctuality. Besides, it was believed by ancient people that its crow and blood could dispel evil spirits, and that's why Rooster is also the embodiment of good luck.
On this unique brush pot, the colorful Rooster is featured in all its majesty. Near the bottom of the brush pot, the years of the Rooster and their associated elements between 1909 to 1994 are indicated. The personality of those born in the Year of the Rooster is also imprinted on the brush pot.
