Description
The Mercersburg Academy Mercersburg Pa. - Catalogue 1925-1926. Printed for the Academy MCMXXVI. Book measures 10" by 7" and contains a double page fold out view of the campus (12" by 9.75") as a frontis. Has 86 pages plus 16 plates from photographs. The fold out view is signed Liths & Co. NY. The Plates are signed Munder-Thomsen Co. Baltimore & NY. Norman T.A. Munder was a printer in Baltimore Maryland who did high quality printing for prominent people and institutions. Book also has an interest to Archibald Rutledge collectors as he headed the English Department here for over 30 years. He is listed as a member of Faculty and as Vice-President of the prestigeous Mercersburg Fifteen. All of his sons, Irvine Hart Rutledge, Archibald Hamilton Rutledge Jr. and Henry Middleton Rutledge are all listed as students. The book is complete and in very good condition. Laid in is a postcard addressed to Mrs. A.M. Foster, Uniontown, Pa. who was probably the original owner.
