Vintage Chinese Carved Bamboo Brushpot w/ Rosewood Mounts, Signed & Date 1986

DESCRIPTION:
A Chinese vintage bamboo brushpot with hardwood/rosewood mounts. One side has shallow relief carving of a standing shirtless bearded man with big belly yawning with a book in his right hand. He is standing next to an outdoor day bed/bench beside a banana tree. A seated small boy appears to be taking a nap with his head resting on the bed. The back side with a phrase encouraging study/education, signed & dated the year of the tiger Bin Yin (1986).
SIZE:
Approx. 5 3/8 inches tall & 3 1/8 to 3 ¼ inches in diameter.
CONDITION:
Excellent, no damage, just the originally manufacturing flaws on seams between the bamboo & wood mounts. Minute age fissures all around the piece. Minor rubs, scratches, dirts, ... etc.
