VIRTUAL  PROGRAMMER FOR OBERHEIM OB-Xa - (ENCORE 1.2)
This software is a Virtual synthesizer programmer for use with the Oberheim OB-Xa synthesizer.     It emulates the OB-Xa front panel in a software environment within the APPLE LOGIC audio/sequencer program (formerly Emagic Logic).     To use this software you MUST have a valid copy of LOGIC on your computer (see below), an ENCORE ELECTRONICS MIDI upgraded OB-Xa running firmware v1.2 or higher,  and a MIDI interface which connects your computer via MIDI cable to your Oberheim synthesizer.
This software CANNOT be used as a stand alone application under any circumstances.     It will NOT run in Ableton, Reason, VST or any other host - it is not a plug-in but a single importable layer of the Logic environment.
Upon purchase, you will ultimately receive a ZIP archive of the editor you purchased for Logic.     UNZIP this archive and you will have a LOGIC song document you can now open in the Logic program (Mac v8-9 and vX are supplied - please request special version if needed).      Once open, you will see the editor on your screen and you can then discover the pleasures of a virtual programmer for your OBERHEIM synthesizer!
NOTE!!    This software requires an ENCORE ELECTRONICS upgraded OB-Xa in the form of both a hardware kit for your synth and the correct software version running on it (v1.2 or higher) - which can be easily installed by user via FLASH upgrade over MIDI.
NOW FULLY LOGIC X COMPATIBLE!
Logic X upgrades have been ported to earlier versions.    Previous buyers may contact me here for free upgrade to any version v4 - 9.      New features include FULL RESET and HYPERDRAW MIDI CC compatibility.
OVERVIEW:
This editor is physically laid out to emulate the Oberheim OB-Xa front panel.    If you're familiar with the OB-Xa layout then you should feel right at home here.     I've adopted certain additions including text feedback, a RESET function, ALL NOTES OFF, and a few other performance tools.
All programmable functions of the OB-Xa front panel are represented here - but this does not include the HOLD and CHORD buttons (please see the included photo to understand the layout).    None of the live Modulation bend assembly panel is accessible with MIDI commands either - but everything else programmable is in there including SPLIT, DOUBLE and SINGLE modes.     Editing is possible on both sides of the SPLIT or on both halves of a DOUBLE using the UPPER and LOWER function to select the live area.
All real time moves are recordable by the Logic sequencer for repeatable real time changes on playback - or you can automate using HYPERDRAW.      You may also remotely control these SYSEX faders and buttons via a hardware control surface if you take the time to tailor the controls to suit your individual hardware.     This is not difficult to do and needs only be done once and then saved for future sessions.
This programmer resides in one layer of the LOGIC environment hierarchy - and is importable to your personal AUTOLOAD song (notes on how to do so are also included).    It is not a plug-in, but a page in the environment which can be imported into your song documents or run alongside your current work simultaneously as a second song.

This editor is current but is still compatible with many earlier versions of Logic starting with Emagic MAC Version 4.x.     It is compatible with ALL versions of Logic through vX.   (Logic X v10.5 has a visual bug concerning button display - corrected in v10.6)
It is also compatible with Logic Express v7 - 9.     If you have a version 8 Logic you must use v 8.01 or higher which fixes a SYSEX bug that renders v8.0 inoperable.
This editor is also compatible with the v4 - v6 PC versions of Logic (please specify upon purchase).     In all v5's - it is compatible down to Logic SILVER.     NOT compatible with Micro-Logic or any of the other earlier neutered Emagic bundled versions.
This editor is designed to fit a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 or larger but will also work on smaller screens.
