Western Electric Yellow Rotary Dial Desk Telephone C/D 500 1968 Tested & Working

Excellent vintage yellow Western Electric Model C/D 500 rotary dial desk phone has been recently detailed to look much like it did coming out of the box in 1968.  It’s been wired with a length of modular tipped line cord to allow you to plug it into today’s typical home wall jack.  Date stamp on the underside is from 10/68, and it matches date stamps on inner parts as well.  Phone looks outstanding, and even the underside is free of corrosion.  You won’t find the usual accumulation of grime, paint specks, and sticker residue on this one that’s been carefully detailed to include the body, hand set and dial.  The original coiled hand set cord is not kinked, stretched out or tangled.  The handset was given special attention inside and out, so there’ll be no qualms about using it.  There are no nicks, cracks, scratches or mars on the reflective surfaces….photos will tell the story well.   The dial spins freely and returns to proper index, and I was able to get a dial tone on our line, dial out, and both parties can be heard clearly.  The volume adjustable ringer operates on incoming calls with that distinctive sound from real brass bells inside.  From what I understand, modern phone lines in some areas might not support all functions of vintage rotary phones that do best on land lines.  This is the real McCoy vintage Western Electric product with rugged construction, Made in

Phone weighs just over 5 pounds unpacked and has a footprint of approx 9 inches by 5.3 in.  I’ve shipped delicate electronics for the past 23 years on eBay with finest packing materials and methods, phone will be insured and sent off via 2 / 3 day USPS Priority Mail on the day or day after payment is received.
