ZAILA AVANT-GARDE WINS THE 2021 NATIONAL SPELLING BEE COMMEMORATIVE POSTERZaila Avant-garde, a 14-year-old ninth grader from suburban New Orleans, won the 2021 National Spelling Bee held in Orlando, Florida. She is the first African Amerian to win the bee. The words that she spelled correctly in the final: 1.) Rolamite

Here are some facts about the new champion: In 2018, she appeared in a commercial with NBA great Steph Curry to showcase her skills. (What she does is quite amazing.)
She holds three Guinness Book of World Records: Most Basketballs Dribbled Simultaneously (six basketballs for 30 seconds). Most Basketball Bounces (307 bounces in 30 seconds). Most Bounce Juggles in One Minute (255 using four basketballs).
She is a well-spoken teenager and recently said this:
“I think that the more the achievements and triumphs of women are promoted and publicized, the more likely it is that little girls around the world will see that they can do any and everything that they put their minds to.”
